Robert Simpson BSc MRICS, MFPWS Director, Chartered Building Surveyor
Since qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1984, I have worked in private practice in London and Dorset at partnership level for most of that time. Over my career I have gained considerable experience in many aspects of building surveying and related professional services with a particular focus on building surveys, contract administration and party wall matters.
Our Approach
We always aim to be as approachable and accessible to our Clients as we can in the manner and style of our verbal and written communication and provide a thorough cost-effective solution to meet our Client's needs. To achieve these aims we:
Question the brief and if necessary ask further questions. Clients can sometimes ask for one thing and possibly needing something else.
Try to place the brief in context to establish the bigger picture.
Inform an enquirer immediately if the work is within our sphere of expertise and if it isn't, point him towards an appropriate professional.
Are prepared (in appropriate cases) to invest non-chargeable time to meet the Client or visit a site before accepting a new instruction.
Try, as far as possible, to provide a clear idea of the work will cost and charge a competitive fee appropriate to the task.
Ensure that the information we provide is expressed in a clear way that makes sense to the Client, whether a layperson or property professional.
Use information technology as far as possible to assist efficiency, accessibility and reduce costs.
Simpson Chartered Surveyors is an impartial, independent, insured practice and adheres to a strict code of conduct and professional values. We are regulated by RICS and our complaints handling procedure is also compliant with RICS Regulations.
